Green Light for Business, GL4B to everyone on campus, is a non-profit association run by Bocconi students. It was founded in 2007 by a group of international students who wanted the university to take sustainability seriously, and it has been doing exactly that ever since: on campus, in Milan, and in print.

Our mission is to train tomorrow’s leaders and decision makers to tackle the environmental challenges we face. We work across environmental, social and economic sustainability, because the three cannot be separated: a greener campus needs a business case, a fair transition needs numbers, and both need people who can explain them.

In practice that means three things. We change the campus we study on, working with the University’s Environment Committee on proposals that become permanent, from the water fountains of 2013 to the welcome-kit bottle and the Object Library. We bring people together, through panels with companies and researchers, park clean-ups, clothing swaps, site visits and socials, many of them open to everyone at Bocconi. And we publish: members write signed articles for the blog every week during term.

Around ninety students are members. Each semester a smaller group is active in one of three divisions, led by a board that the members elect every spring. Membership is open to any Bocconi student, in any programme and any year.
